		Sizzling Summer Salsa Dance Party on Saturday, July 18th 2009 Here it is! The party that you have all been asking for! You've been looking for a hot salsa party to hit Saturday night, and we are bringing it to you! At the Starlight Ballroom located at 7 High Street, Nutley, NJ, Cultural Explosion Dance Company brings you - Strictly Salsa! This Party will be the talk of town...so you don't want to miss it! We'll start with a great dance lesson from 8-9PM with Christina & Juan teaching 2 separate levels: beginner and intermediate. Then the party will kick off at 9pm playing mostly Salsa with a mix of a little bit of Merengue, Bachata & Cha-Cha-Cha to change things up! The Starlight has a Beautiful & Elegant Atmosphere - it is one of the nicest ballrooms studios in New Jersey, with a large wooden dance floor (4,000 square feet!) and classy ambiance. Our Student Team, Semi-Pro and Pro Team dancers will be in attendance, so there will plenty of great dancers to dance with! Parkway: Garden State Parkway take Exit 153 A if traveling North or 153 if traveling South - take Route 3 East and follow the Route 3 instructions below: Route 3: Take Route 3 to Main Avenue/Nutley/Passaic Exit. 		Auditions for Cultural Explosion are on July 27, 2009!! We will be holding auditions for all Cultural Explosion Dance Teams: 1) Pro Team 2) Semi-Pro Team 3) Student Team If you are interested in being a member of one of our performance teams don't miss this opportunity. We will be testing all who audition in what we consider the key elements/techniques of a well rounded Salsa Dancer/Performer. Therefore, you will be evaluated not only on how well you demonstrate these skills, but also on how confident you are when performing them. Here's a list of our requirements for each level: Student Team: 1) Lead or Follow Proficiency - Able to learn an Intermediate pattern and execute it well 2) Timing - Proficient On 1 3) Footwork - Able to learn a footwork combination quickly and execute it well 4) Spinning - Must be able to do double turns as a minimum 5) Body Movement - A general understanding of body movement/control/isolations 6) Styling - Able to learn & execute styling during a partner work sequence 7) Dips/Lifts/Tricks - A general understanding of how to execute simple dips & ability and desire to learn more challenging ones Semi-Pro Team: 1) Lead/Follow - Able to learn an Advanced pattern quickly and execute it well 2) Timing - Proficient On1 & a general understanding of On 2 3) Footwork - Able to learn an Advanced footwork combination quickly and execute it well 4) Spinning - Proficient in Triples and a general understanding of multiple turns 5) Body Movement - Must be able to learn a body movement/control/isolations combination quickly and execute it well 6) Styling - Proficient at quickly learning styling during a partner work sequence and executing it well 7) Strength/Agility - able to learn & execute Dips/Lifts/Tricks 8) Dips/Lifts/Tricks - Proficient at learning and executing Advanced Dips and a general understanding of Lifts & Tricks 9) Musicality - Proficient at accenting the highs & lows in the music during a choreography 10) Stage Presence - able to Display confidence & charisma when performing Pro-Team: 1) Lead/Follow - Able to learn an Advanced pattern quickly and perform it well 2) Timing - Proficient On1 & On 2 3) Footwork - Proficient at Advanced level & musical footwork 4) Spinning - Proficient at multiple turns 5) Body Movement - Proficient at body movement/control/isolations 6) Styling - Proficient at quickly learning styling during a partner work sequence and performing it well 7) Fitness - able to wear all types of costumes 8) Dips/Lifts/Tricks - Proficient at learning and performing Dips, Lifts & Tricks 9) Musicality - Proficient at accenting the highs & lows in the music during a choreography 10) Stage Presence - Displaying confidence, charisma & showmanship when performing 11) Must have some performance experience (experience does not have to be in Salsa/Mambo) For Driving Directions to Club Cubano - Click Here - This will take you to our weekly schedule with addresses & driving directions.
